Head of Project Delivery

The Head of Project Engineering role is a remarkable opportunity to inspire and lead a talented team, ensuring we provide exceptional customer service and support our colleagues at Thames Water.

In this pivotal position, you will drive vital projects to expand and maintain our Waste Networks in the Thames Valley and surrounding areas. What you’ll be doing as Head of Project Engineering

• You will be responsible for the Programme management aspects of an extensive program of large-scale projects, with current expenditures of approximately half a billion per year.
• Your role will involve collaborating with others to drive efficiency and implement improvements continuously. At the beginning of each project, you will prepare a delivery plan and be accountable for the timely delivery of technical outputs, including Project Briefs for contractors to provide pricing.
• You will also continuously seek to enhance our health and safety culture and performance through design development, site visits, and audits. Engaging with external and internal stakeholders will be critical to your responsibilities.
• Strong leadership will foster a culture of accountability, achievement, and performance among team members and the supply chain. Additionally, you will develop, build, and lead the team needed to ensure the success of your projects or programs.

Hybrid – Clearwater Court, 2 -3 days on-site and if office a week.
36 hours a week.

The ideal candidate will drive and have access to a car, but this role comes with a car allowance.

What you should bring to the role

• Background in a senior capacity in a technical or construction role.
• Engineering Degree qualified.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution or equivalent.
• Previous leadership and management background in building and developing a new team to deliver a new business function.
• Background in developing and implementing processes and procedures on a large scale, particularly regarding technical quality and continuous improvement.
• Understand, assimilate, and articulate everything in the business strategy, business case, and brief to ensure it is captured and delivered through the project and engineering solution.

• Competitive salary from £88,000 - £100,000 per annum.
• This role will come with a car allowance of £5.800
• 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
