Job Description

We have a unique 12-month fixed term contract as an Adoptions Technical Coordinator covering maternity to support our Clean and Waste Pre-Planning along with some support activities in the wider Sewer Adoptions team.

What you will being doing as the Adoptions Technical Coordinator:
Working as part of a dynamic team of engineers, managing a range of clean water and wastewater pre planning enquiries, analysing any requests for new housing developments to connect our clients to the water and waste network. You will take ownership and be the first point of contact for developers following their applications, as well as ensuring our assets are protected throughout process.

An important aspect of the role is to ensure that our Pre-Planning activities are managed effectively across the Pre-Planning process, and you will be responsible for ensuring that all regulatory and metric Service Level Agreements are met.

In addition, you will be working with Adoptions engineers by supporting the reviewing of CCTVs across the waste side of the Adoptions team.

Within the role you will be engaging with many stakeholders both internal and external. Stakeholders will include internal departments such as Asset Planners, Operations, Major Projects and others, whilst externally you will work with Local Planning Authorities, Environment Agencies, product manufacturers, major developers, global consultancies, small developers, contractors and customers.

 What you should bring to the role:
  • It’s envisaged the appointed individual will hold A-Level qualifications and will have previous working experience in a similar position.
  • You’ll be a strong communicator at all levels both written and verbal with competent IT skills, able to liaise and negotiate where applicable.
  • With both WaterUK and DMeX as our team's key performance indicators, you will deliver the customer promise by exceeding expectations for the statutory timescales, by being an efficient and professional communicator, keeping the developer well-informed throughout the process and building strong relationships for improved customer satisfaction overall.
  • You’ll be working to meet the legislation requirements for the role and will be fully up to date and knowledgeable on the most recent service level agreements and WaterUK metrics.
