Job Description

Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, staying organized, and working in a busy, team-focused environment? As a Defect Management Coordinator, your main responsibility will be to handle and resolve defect notifications for streetworks and reinstatements. You’ll be at the heart of ensuring these issues are investigated, processed, and resolved within set timelines. In this role, you’ll work closely with contractors, internal teams, and Highway Authorities, making a real difference by keeping everything running smoothly and safely. What you’ll be doing as a Defect Management Coordinator
  • Answering and managing calls (it can get busy, so staying calm under pressure is key).
  • Talking with stakeholders like contractors and Highway Authorities to ensure defects are resolved quickly and within the required timelines.
  • Investigating reports, raising defect notifications, and keeping records up to date.
  • Chasing outstanding issues and making sure everything is compliant with legislation.
  • Supporting other teams and departments to deliver safe and effective solutions.
Base Location:  Clearwater Court, Reading. Hybrid Working with a  minimum of 1 day per week in the office.
Working hours:  Monday to Friday 36 hours per week

  • Customer service experience – it’s important for handling interactions effectively
  • Great communication skills – you’ll be speaking to lots of different people
  • The ability to stay calm and adapt in a busy environment

  • A knack for solving problems and using your initiative
  • Confidence on the phone – you’ll be chatting with various stakeholders daily
