We are looking for an
Outage Manager to join Thames Water permanently.
This role is an opportunity to manage the outage plan for North East London's clean water assets.
You will develop and deliver an outage plan for Coppermills Water Treatment Works, including all work which impacts site output, resilience and quality. This must be managed to not impact other operational activities, which could reduce site resilience.
Monday – Friday 36 hours per week 07:30 – 15:30What will you be doing as an Outage Manager?- Communicate clearly with all stakeholders about their outage needs and allocated slots and dependencies, making informed decisions to meet required outcomes.
- Manage the enabling activities for all Coppermills planned outages. This involves leading outage delivery critical enablers to ensure completion in sufficient time or using risk assessment to escalate where this will not be achieved.
- Complete 2 x SHEs per month, report safety observations and support the site teams with the resolution of safety issues.
- Attend relevant site operations meetings, taking a lead in outage plan management, aligning with the performance targets of the North East London Area Operations Manager.
- Gain a full understanding of the Coppermill site layout and process to be able to facilitate project scope visits by contractors if required.
- Raise risks and concerns at the local Responsible Persons and risk meetings, working with the Risk Optimisation Co-ordinator/Technical Manager to ensure these are captured on the corporate risk system.
- Incorporate on-site tank inspections into the outage plan to meet all regulatory and statutory deadlines.
- Present on site at Coppermills a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Deliver key outages required to complete the Ofwat-funded schemes on time.
- Ensure that the Coppermills outage plan is complementary to the wider London outage plan to deliver all activities at an agreed level of risk.
- Risks to site output, resilience and quality are fully understood, communicated and mitigated in agreement with other outage stakeholders.
What should you bring to the role?- A full UK driving licence is required due to travelling to other sites.
- Knowledge of water treatment would be beneficial, however not essential.
- Great organisational skills and ability to lead and influence teams with different skills and backgrounds collaboratively.
- The ability to analyse data from various sources and use this data to produce and manage achievable plans.
- Experience in project management.
