Job Description

The Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day configuration of data held within a centralised Configuration Management Database (CMDB) ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate. Key to achieving this will be the implementation of a newly defined Configuration Management Plan (CMP), for which the SACM Analyst will have a pivotal role in its ongoing success.

Working within a team, the primary focus of the SACM Analyst is the delivery of prioritised tasks which revolve around the identification, control, recording, reporting, verification, and auditing of configuration items (CIs) within the CMDB. Also assist towards the implementation and oversight of appropriate governance processes.

What you’ll be doing as a SACM Analyst
  • Undertake data insertion and updating activities within the CMDB ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Implement tasks to achieve the Configuration Management Plan in accordance with priority need.
  • Contribute towards supporting the CMDB ensuring appropriate regular housekeeping is performed.
  • Be a point of contact to internal and external stakeholders regarding any enquires regarding data held in the CMDB
  • Track the progress and variation across changing states of CIs. When a CI moves through lifecycle phases, the status changes should be recorded
  • Perform reviews and audits to align the configuration states with documented baselines. Before introducing a change or release, verify the configuration information against specified requirements. 
  • Provide regular feedback to the SACM Manager on efficiency of processes and procedures
This is a fixed term contract/secondment for 6 – 10 months (Maternity Cover)
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading
Working pattern – Monday to Friday 36 hours
