Job Description

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing IT stock, providing exceptional 2nd line break-fix support, and ensuring seamless customer onboarding processes for starters, movers, and leavers.

You will be the go-to person for IT peripherals, printer support, and meeting room equipment, fostering a friendly and professional environment to enhance the overall customer experience. You will support Digital-driven projects and be core testers for new features and services as part of continual service improvements.

What you’ll be doing as a Hub Engineer
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of IT stock, including peripherals, hardware, and accessories.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding, relocation, and offboarding processes for employees by managing IT requirements.
  • Oversee onsite and remote courier deployment and collections for starters, movers, and leavers.
  • Resolve technical issues escalated from the service desk, including hardware, software, and peripheral faults.
  • Offer expert knowledge and support for IT peripherals such as keyboards, mice, monitors, and docking stations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot printer hardware, ensuring minimal disruption to printing services.
  • Work closely with external vendors to ensure efficient delivery and maintenance of IT services and equipment.
  • Act as the face of IT Services, delivering a high level of customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Assist in the development, configuration, and testing of new IT features and services.
  • Test and validate new technologies for performance and compatibility.

Base location – Reading sites. (Clear Water Court & Kemble Court Reading)

Working pattern – 36 hours.
Requirements for the role – MUST be able to attend the office Monday to Friday.

What you should bring to the role
  • Able to problem solve with the ability to make a balanced decision.
  • IT experience within an organisation.
  • Experience of customer support with IT problems.
  • Good Knowledge of hardware and potentially repairing.
  • Experience supporting desktop & Laptops.
  • Mobile Phone Support, iPhone, Samsung & other Android platforms.
  • ITIL certification is desirable.
