Job Description

The Service Tooling team is accountable for owning and enhancing the internal ServiceNow platform ensuring it meets the demands of the business. Working in a DevOps model, you will be responsible for the delivery of new functionality within ServiceNow whilst also supporting operational resilience and platform stability.
As a member of the team, you will use your knowledge and expertise of ServiceNow to guide the business and develop outcomes in accordance with requirements. Being familiar with the wide amount of capability provided within ServiceNow, you will identify, build, and test high-quality technical solutions ensuring the expected functionality is provided.

What you’ll be doing as a ServiceNow Developer
  • You will be responsible for delivering complex technical solutions within the ServiceNow environment, ensuring the resulting outcomes meet the needs of the business.
  • To undertake operational activity including the resolution of platform related incidents, version upgrades, required housekeeping and pro-active maintenance.
  • Perform peer checking of colleague’s deliverables ensuring outcomes follow best-practice and meet expected standards.
  • Identify areas of continuous improvement and create effective solutions to implement them
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, define solutions, and agree the definition of done.
  • Undertake mentoring and cross-training of colleagues using your own skillset to develop others.
  • Participate within team DevOps ceremonies (sprint planning, show and tell, sprint review etc) providing valued input.
This is a 6 – 10 month fixed term contract (Maternity cover)
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading
Working pattern – Monday to Friday 36 hours

What you should bring to the role
  • Familiarity with the integration of external platforms/data into ServiceNow ensuring best practice is used.
  • Previous experience working in at least one of the following programming languages such as Java, JavaScript and Python.
  • Experience of working within a DevOps environment and the related processes and controls
  • Be a confident communicator with proven ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders as necessary.
  • Both verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience utilising the ServiceNow Catalogue Builder and Flow Designer components
  • Knowledge or experience with CMDB technology.
