This is a Financial Planning and Performance Analyst role within the Operations Finance team and reports to the Head of Finance for Waste and Bioresources.
The role will business partner the members of the Waste and Bioresources Senior Leadership team and is responsible for performance reporting, forecasting and analysis. The key purpose for the role is to drive optimal performance at the best value for money across both opex and capex investments.
What you’ll be doing as a Finance Analyst - Building/maintaining strong partnerships with the Operational teams AND Working with the Management Accountants (Opex) and Cost planners (capex) as part of the Monthly reporting cycle.
- Leading and assisting in setting a business plan that achieves all operational and financial objectives.
- Preparing and uploading budgets and forecasts for operational expenditure, measuring and understanding performance against these metrics.
- Work with the business to track financial performance and tease out forward-looking risks and opportunities.
- Support the development of capital investment papers as required by the business.
- Ensure that investment cases have been reviewed and that all key financial information is complete and accurate, and is affordable within budget constraints.
- Support the business in developing new models as appropriate, ensuring these are robust and aid decision-making.
- During the year there will be specific, and ad-hoc activities that are pan-finance and you may be asked to support with key analysis and insight into these processes.
We are looking for 2 Finance Analysts to join the Waste Management Accounting team
Base location – Hybrid – Clearwater Court Reading.
Necessary requirement – Full UK driving licence as travel around the Thames Valley region is required.
What you should bring to the roleEssential - Accounting Qualification.
- Business partnering, Management Accounting, Project / Capital accounting experience
- Analytical skills.
- Information system skills such as Excel or HFM.
- Planning and Organisational skills in order to work effectively.
Desirable - knowledge of SAP and PBI.
- Experience in large/complex organisations.
- Worked in the waste sector.
