Job Description

As our Operations Integration Specialist, you'll be the driving force behind ensuring that everything we build is ready for real-world operation. You’ll sit at the heart of major capital delivery projects, not just observing from the sidelines but actively influencing decisions, shaping outcomes, and ensuring that what’s delivered is fit for purpose, future-proof, and operationally rock-solid.

As part of our Capital Delivery Project Teams, but fully embedded within Operations, you’ll bridge project delivery and operational excellence. You’ll ensure operational requirements are fully considered and embedded from the outset — driving resilience, efficiency, and performance in every solution. From day one, you'll represent

Operations throughout the entire project lifecycle — making sure what's delivered is compliant and high-performing, practical, sustainable, and ready for day-to-day use.

What you’ll be doing as an Operations Integration Specialist
  • Working on behalf of Operations and managing expectations to solution delivery (ensuring maintenance requirements are considered as part of the core design – feedback & challenge)
  • Create & manage Outage RACI & management plan, work with Operations to plan and schedule Outages
  • Be engaged at a local level and understand site performance and restrictions, flagging risk to delivery
  • Work with and support both operational and contractor teams to facilitate testing, including pre-requisite enabling activity, issuing health and safety permits and authorisations for key works on site
  • Facilitate Operations to support & coordinate training on new assets, ensuring all appropriate staff are engaged
  • Responsible for making sure all documents (Manuals, O&M manuals, Keys, Drawings, Schematics, Reinstatement & Decommission, maintenance plan updates) are received and signed off by COP, completing Ops Engagement
  • Working closely with Operational site teams to encourage synergies to deliver project success
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure that ownership and responsibilities are fulfilled during the Take Over process, and ensure that deliverables are available at the required time
Hybrid – Oxford Sewage Treatment Works

As part of this role, you must be on site and in the office 3 days a week, working 36 hours a week, Monday through Friday.

The successful candidate must have a driver's license and access to a car, but please do apply if you don't, as we are open to candidates without a vehicle.

What you should bring to the role
  • Good understanding and grasp of Engineering solutions and experience of working in an Engineering solutions environment
  • Engineering Degree, HNC, or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of sign-off project scope limitations and risk in line with Operational Integration
  • Operational expertise and understanding to determine operational constraints & site restrictions
  • Awareness of legislative frameworks relating to future requirements that may impact delivery
  • Experienced in conducting site meetings to facilitate both Operations and Delivery teams, as well as forming part of the review process
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills are essential alongside the ability to manage and influence multiple high-level and external stakeholders whilst delivering to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of contractual testing and experience in facilitating sign-off
What’s in it for you
  • Competitive salary from £45,000 to £58,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • 26 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
  • Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution.
  • Personal Medical Assessments – Open to all once a year.
  • Wider benefits scheme including our benefits hub, which is packed full of offers and information to save you money and support your wellbeing.
