Salary: £38,249-£45,413pa
Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (would consider Part-time)

The Role

Our client, The Open University, is recruiting an Engagement Manager to join the ClickStart project team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a committed, creative, and friendly team, supporting young adults (18-24) to develop digital skills that improve their career prospects.
In this pivotal role, you will lead learner engagement and stakeholder communications for the project, helping ensure effective participation, retention, and progression. This position is ideal for someone passionate about people, communication, and impact-driven project work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day project engagement activities and communication strategies.
  • Write, edit, and proof engaging content across digital channels, including emails, social media, and promotional materials.
  • Support business-to-business outreach and partner engagement to recruit eligible learners.
  • Monitor and respond to learner queries and support requests.
  • Organise and host learner webinars and induction sessions.
  • Evaluate engagement strategies and act on learner journey data to improve outcomes.
  • Report on progress, risks, and opportunities to the wider project team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the University and external partners to ensure the project's success.
  • Provide support to the Project Manager when required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience managing complex, learner-facing projects or communications.
  • Strong writing skills with a proven ability to produce content for varied audiences and channels.
  • Confidence in briefing marketing teams and guiding impactful campaigns.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities under pressure and with limited resources.
  • Strong digital skills, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint proficiency.
  • A collaborative mind-set and a flexible, creative approach to problem-solving.
