Role Overview:
" Preparatory Work: Conduct detailed research, analyze best practices, and consult with residents and staff to develop policy plans. This involves negotiating with housing teams, HR, Finance, and Legal departments. You'll also liaise with external partners like RSLs, banks, and the Credit Union for financial inclusion. Keeping Ward Councillors informed about Resident Services is crucial.
" Innovative Solutions: Recommend innovative and alternative approaches to the Resident Services Management Team to enhance service delivery, achieve value for money, and improve customer satisfaction. This requires creative thinking to develop new responses to customer needs and ensuring timely delivery of improvements.
" Operational Level Work: Although there are no supervisory responsibilities, the role requires working at an operational manager level. This means understanding the broader impact of projects on the service and colleagues' workloads. Engaging positively with customers, stakeholders, senior managers, staff, and Trades Union representatives is essential.
Key Requirements:
" Knowledge of best practices, government policies, legislative frameworks, and key issues in housing services.
" Understanding of housing and related public sector legislation.
" Skilled in resident consultation and participation.
" Awareness of proposed Welfare Benefit Reforms and their impact on tenants and leaseholders.
" Understanding of financial exclusion impacts and strategies to mitigate these issues.
" Familiarity with performance and project management tools and techniques.
" Ability to ensure the service provides value for money.
" Competence in effective budget management techniques.
" Strong understanding of the benefits of open and honest communication with customers.
" Experience in handling complex interpersonal issues.
