Job Title: Infrastructure Technician (Highways)
Location: London Borough of Harrow, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT
Salary: £250 day rate, Umbrella PAYE

About the Role:
The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a skilled and dedicated Infrastructure Technician to join our highways team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and improvement of highway infrastructure. This role involves working closely with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our road networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of highways and related infrastructure.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify areas requiring attention.
• Support the planning and execution of roadworks and construction projects.
• Monitor and report on the condition of road surfaces, signage, and other highway assets.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors to implement maintenance and improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Respond to emergency situations and provide on-site support as needed.
• Lead on a minor parking schemes programme.
• Assist with parking/traffic scheme design.
• Write basic briefings and reports.
• CAD skills are essential.
• Experience with GIS is essential.

Requirements:

• Relevant technical qualification in civil engineering, construction, or a related field.
• Proven experience in highway maintenance or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites.
• Ability to undertake site visits, including evenings.
