Overview of Housing Needs Operational Manager:
Pertemps Recruitment Partnership is pleased to present an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Housing Needs Operational Manager to join the London Borough of Harrow. This pivotal role offers a competitive hourly rate of £45.38 (Umbrella PAYE), alongside access to high-quality training, career development support. We are seeking a proactive leader with a strong background in housing needs and homelessness services, ready to contribute to a growing and committed team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support residents in navigating housing options and managing their situations independently.
• Develop and share self-help tools across council platforms.
• Provide accurate housing advice via interviews, calls, outreach, and home visits.
• Ensure compliance with statutory duties under housing and care legislation.
• Oversee and review Personalised Housing Plans to prevent or relieve homelessness.
• Make timely decisions on homelessness cases and refer to relevant services as needed.
• Manage emergency accommodation placements and reduce temporary housing costs.
• Coordinate multi-agency efforts to move individuals from street homelessness into stable housing.
• Address legal challenges related to homelessness decisions and housing allocations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• In-depth knowledge of housing services, policy, legislation, and equality issues.
• Awareness of housing challenges at national, regional, and local levels.
• Sharp problem-solving skills and sound decision-making.
• Proven leadership experience in housing services and managing change.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent organisational skills to handle competing priorities under pressure.
• A track record of continuous professional development and service improvement.
• Managerial-level experience supporting individuals in housing need.
