Social Worker, Adult Locality Team, Gloucestershire
Pertemps are recruiting for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Locality team in Gloucestershire’s Adult Social Care Services.

The postholder must be able to listen hard to the people of Gloucestershire, to understand what really matters and to connect them to resources that help them continue with their chosen life, either with support or independently. They will be working with individuals to help them to regain control of their lives in a crisis. Gloucestershire use the Three Conversation approach, a model that re-emphasises focus on people, their strengths and the networks and community around them.

Duties:

• Prioritise supporting people in crisis to regain control of their lives, working together to achieve effective plans to reduce risk and ensure people are more stable.
• In line with the Care Act, undertake complex social care interventions including assessments, to determine eligibility, and support plans, to ensure individuals are enabled to lead the lives they choose.
• To coordinate and manage section 42 enquiries and complex, high-risk situations, utilising professional judgement throughout.
• To promote social change and development, social cohesion and the empowerment and liberation of people.
• To develop and maintain an in – depth knowledge of local resources, working collaboratively with teams and services both within and outside of Gloucestershire County Council.

Benefits working at Gloucestershire:

• £35 per hour
• £150 Accommodation / mileage weekly allowance (T&C’s attached);
• Capped caseloads at 25
• Guaranteed minimum 3-month placement (subject to renewal)
• Remote / agile working: Localities - first 2 weeks in the office for a robust induction; thereafter 2 days per week in Gloucestershire to undertake visits / meetings / supervision
• Dedicated support with regular supervision and guidance from line management.

Role Requirements:

• Social Worker registered with Social Work England with a completed ASYE year
• Experience working within Adult Social Care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
• Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to Adult Social Work
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a car
