Head of Service, Corporate Parenting, Wrexham
Pertemps are recruiting for a highly experienced and motivated Head of Service for Wrexham’s Corporate Parenting Service.

As Head of Service, the postholder will be responsible for and lead the Fostering, Children Looked After and leaving care services. In addition, they will have management oversight over the North Wales Adoption Service (hosted by WCBC). They will be a key member of the Children’s Social Care Senior Management team in Wrexham, who have a joint focus on driving forward improved practice, performance and quality plans across Children’s Social Care Services.
As well as leading on the Corporate Parent strategic plan, the postholder will engage effectively with key partners and stakeholders on an operational and strategic level, developing key multi agency partnerships as well as engaging with elected members and senior council officers.

Wrexham’s Corporate Parenting service has a number of exciting projects. They have launched their ‘Big Ask’ in ensuring children needs are met from the wider community and recently launched their Special Guardianship Policy. These projects and partnerships across Wrexham are benefiting their children and young people, so it’s great time to join Children’s Social Care.

Requirements:

• Proven skills/knowledge in leading and managing people effectively
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Corporate Parenting including significant management of relevant social work teams
• Social Work qualification and registered with Social Work England
