Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) – Locum Location: Devon (Based at Wonford Hospital)
Working Hours: Full-Time (37 hours/week, Monday to Friday) – Part-time considered
Contract Duration: 3 months temporary cover
Role Overview: Pertemps are seeking an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join Devon’s renowned Daytime AMHP Service. The role involves community-based working, and candidates must be located in Devon during shifts.
Key Responsibilities:- Fulfil duties under the Mental Health Act 1983 and related legislation.
- Undertake MHA triage decisions at the point of referral and develop s13(1) MHA consideration skills in a supportive environment.
- Deliver high-quality assessments, working collaboratively to support individuals experiencing mental health crises.
- Travel across Devon as required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
Requirements:- AMHP Qualification (current or portfolio ready for approval by Devon).
- Recognised qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing (Mental Health or Learning Disabilities), or Psychology.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience and experience in taking MHA triage decisions and community-based assessments.
- Social Work England Registration
