Cover Supervisor (Secondary School) - Flexible Work

Pertemps Education work with schools in Essex to recruit full-time cover supervisors that can make a difference to the local schools by helping to improve the attainment of all pupils.

This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit team and make a real difference to the lives of your pupils. About the role You will be leading lessons and covering in the absence of class teachers for varying subjects at schools near Harlow and Braintree and Chelmsford from April to July, and into September 2024. 

These roles have very little planning and marking. This is a good opportunity to work within schools whose aim is to develop young people so that they leave school not only with an excellent set of academic results but also demonstrate the values of respect, resilience and responsibility.

Pertemps Ideal Candidate would hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service and have at least 2 years worth of reference contacts as well as:

 • Experience working with students aged 11-16
• Flexibility to work in different subjects
• Confident managing behaviour
• An ability to build rapport with students
• Have a fun but firm presence
• An interest in education

We welcome applications from candidates with any level of experience, although previous experience of working with students with challenging behaviour will be an advantage. If you are an aspiring teacher, or an experienced cover supervisor looking for a position, this opportunity could be ideal for you. This role could also suit a candidate with experience of working as a Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor.
