We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join our Child in Need/Child Protection Team at Macclesfield Town Hall. This role is to cover sick leave and a vacancy within the team while permanent recruitment is ongoing.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a frontline safeguarding team with a strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds of need.
• Oversee cases from the front door team, conduct duty assessments, and manage longer-term cases at child in need and child protection levels.
• Facilitate the transfer of cases to a dedicated court work team when care proceedings are initiated.
• Ideally, possess knowledge of the pre-proceedings process.

 
Requirements:

• Proven experience as a manager within a frontline safeguarding team.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding thresholds and child protection processes.
• Ability to work full-time with no option for reduced or condensed hours.
• Flexibility to work additional hours as needed, with the ability to take time off in lieu (TOIL).
• Availability to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.
• Commitment to being office-based on duty days, with the team on duty 1 in every 4 days.

 
 
Requirements:

• Hold a Social Work England registration 
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Full UK Driver’s Licence
• Post-qualifying experience 
• Degree/equivalent in Social Work
