About the Role: Camden Council is seeking a dedicated
Senior SEN Officer to join our dynamic SEND team. Under the leadership of the SEN Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small team of Assessment and Case Coordinators, ensuring the local authority’s statutory duties are met in accordance with the Children and Families Act 2014.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will also take on additional responsibilities as agreed with the Head of Service.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide day-to-day line management and support to the Assessment and Case Coordinators.
- Oversee the statutory assessment process and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Promote high-quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans and support packages.
- Build strong relationships with families, schools, and partner agencies.
- Contribute to strategic SEND planning and service improvement.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Head of Service.
About You:- Experienced in working within SEND statutory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
- Confident in leading a small team and ensuring compliance with statutory duties.
- Excellent communication and partnership working skills.
- Commitment to delivering positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
