Are you a skilled Gas Engineer with leadership experience, looking for an opportunity to lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team? Join our client as a Gas Team Leader, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality gas services

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to step into a leadership role, managing a team and ensuring compliance with industry regulations while delivering excellent service to our residents.

Location - Edinburgh
Hours - 36 hours a week, Monday - Friday
Duration – temporary
Pay - £20.03 per hour

🔧 About the Role

As a Gas Team Leader, you will oversee a team of Gas Engineers, Electricians, and Apprentices, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with legal requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Leading & Managing a Skilled Team – Providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a well-equipped and motivated workforce.
Ensuring Compliance & Safety – Making sure all work meets Gas Safety Regulations (Installation & Use) 1998, Health & Safety legislation, and client policies.
Allocating & Monitoring Workloads – Managing resources effectively to maintain a high-performing, customer-focused service.
Auditing & Quality Control – Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets the highest standards.
Providing Expert Advice – Supporting colleagues, managers, and senior leaders with professional knowledge and technical guidance.
Developing Processes & Driving Improvements – Identifying ways to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
Managing Contractors & Suppliers – Ensuring external resources maintain the same level of quality and compliance as internal teams.
Handling Health & Safety – Ensuring all health surveillance measures are in place and compliant, and that team members operate safely.
Financial & Performance Oversight – Monitoring budgets, assessing service costs, and implementing financial control procedures.

🎯 About You

We are looking for a highly organised, motivated, and technically skilled leader with a passion for safety and service excellence. To succeed in this role, you will need:

Gas Safe Registration
✔ Relevant technical qualifications at SVQ4 / HND level or equivalent experience in gas engineering and management.
✔ Experience leading or supervising multi-skilled teams in the gas or housing sector.
✔ Strong knowledge of industry regulations, compliance, and best practices.
✔ Ability to manage performance, allocate resources, and deliver training and development for staff.
✔ A customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
✔ Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and statutory authorities.
✔ Confidence in budget and financial management to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
✔ Knowledge of electrical safety regulations (desirable for those managing electrical services).

A management or leadership qualification would be beneficial but is not essential if you have strong supervisory experience.
