Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

About the Role:
Somerset Council is seeking a dynamic Senior Inclusion Lead to join the Children & Family Services directorate in a newly created interim post. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive education and support services, working collaboratively across agencies and settings to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Key Responsibilities:

• Champion high-quality, child-centred practice across support teams.
• Provide visible leadership and drive multi-agency collaboration in localities.
• Monitor and respond to emerging risks, developing strategies to reduce overall risk to children.
• Engage and empower parents, carers, and professionals to secure appropriate placements and support.
• Develop and test innovative approaches to overcome systemic barriers.
• Lead cross-team collaboration to ensure timely action and progress.
• Oversee and coordinate annual phase transitions across education providers.
• Manage high needs funding to pre-empt escalation and ensure value for money.
• Support the identification and assessment of students with SEND in partnership with stakeholders.
