About the Role: Somerset Council is seeking a dynamic
Senior Inclusion Lead to join the Children & Family Services directorate in a newly created interim post. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive education and support services, working collaboratively across agencies and settings to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Key Responsibilities:- Champion high-quality, child-centred practice across support teams.
- Provide visible leadership and drive multi-agency collaboration in localities.
- Monitor and respond to emerging risks, developing strategies to reduce overall risk to children.
- Engage and empower parents, carers, and professionals to secure appropriate placements and support.
- Develop and test innovative approaches to overcome systemic barriers.
- Lead cross-team collaboration to ensure timely action and progress.
- Oversee and coordinate annual phase transitions across education providers.
- Manage high needs funding to pre-empt escalation and ensure value for money.
- Support the identification and assessment of students with SEND in partnership with stakeholders.
