Job Description

Science Teacher required to deliver GCSE science to small classes of Key Stage 4 students with Social Emotional Health Needs. We are looking for a qualified Science Teacher to join a small, experienced team of teaching and support staff at a brilliant Alternative Provision. This school has an excellent reputation for helping young people to reengage with education, and as a Science Teacher you will be responsible for inspiring a love for science among students!

This role requires a Science Teacher with good classroom management skills and ideally, some experience working with children with SEMH needs. 
 
As a Science Teacher your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering high-quality science lessons as a Science Teacher to students at Key Stage 4.
  • Making learning fun for students and inspiring a love for all things Science.
  • Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans as a Science Teacher that cater to students' individual needs.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support as a Science Teacher to students to enhance their understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Monitoring student progress, setting goals, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students.
To excel as a Science Teacher in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant subject specialism as a Science Teacher.
  • Experience teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 as a Science Teacher.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science as a Science Teacher.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs and inspire an interest in science through theory and practical lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
