Teaching Assistant – Birmingham
Do you enjoy inspiring young people to overcome academic and social barriers? Do you have experience working with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours as a Teaching Assistant or mentor? This dynamic SEMH setting is looking for an equally dynamic and driven Teaching Assistant to join an established team of teaching and support staff. This role requires a Teaching Assist to provide 1-2-1 support for child who has struggled to engaged with lessons.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for managing behaviours and motivating the young person that you are supporting. This requires a Teaching Assistant who is patient, resilient, empathetic, and determined to make a difference. You will join a friendly team of TA’s and Teachers who are committed to giving every child a second chance at education. This role requires experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours and ideally you will hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Job Role:
- Supporting challenging behaviours on a 1-2-1 basis
- Working as a Teaching Assistant / mentor
- Acting as a positive role model for students
- Delivering 1-2-1 intervention sessions focused on communication and behaviours
- Helping students to reengage with education
