Job Description

Behaviour Mentor – PRU – Key Stage 4
Do you have experience supporting young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour? Are you passionate about helping students develop self-regulation skills and make positive choices? This dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support Key Stage 4 students who have been excluded from mainstream education.

This role is focused on building strong, trusting, professional relationships with students to help them manage their emotions and behaviour effectively. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping students to re-engage with learning and develop essential life skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an SEMH or alternative provision setting and will be confident managing challenging situations in a calm and supportive manner.

Job Role:
  • Supporting Key Stage 4 students with SEMH needs in a PRU setting.
  • Helping students develop self-regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Providing one-to-one and small group interventions.
  • Managing challenging behaviour using a consistent and restorative approach.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support students' academic and emotional development.
In return, you will enjoy:
  • A supportive and experienced team dedicated to student success.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a real difference to students' lives.
  • Competitive rates of pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • The opportunity to work in a specialist setting where every day is different.
