Job Description

Pastoral Lead – Alternative Provision
Do you have experience working with young people who have faced academic and social barriers?  Do you have a track record of effectively managing behaviours and helping students to reengage with education? This excellent alternative provision is looking to add a Pastoral Lead to the team to support students who have become disengaged with education.

As a Pastoral Lead at this school, you will be joining a small team of pastoral staff who support teachers with classroom management, provide on-call support, and deliver 1-2-1 interventions for students. This pastoral lead role requires previous pastoral experience and effective behaviour management skills. You will be supporting students that have been excluded from mainstream education and will have a range of challenge behaviours and SEMH needs.

Job Role:
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs who have been excluded from mainstream education.
  • Managing behaviour effectively and providing targeted interventions to help students self-regulate.
  • Working closely with families, external agencies, and school staff to provide holistic support.
  • Implementing behaviour and pastoral support plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Leading on safeguarding and well-being initiatives within the school.
  • Acting as on call support for teachers struggling with behaviour management.
In return, you will enjoy:
  • A rewarding role where you can make a real difference in students' lives.
  • A supportive and experienced leadership team.
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Competitive rates of pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • A dynamic working environment where no two days are the same.

This role requires a valid Enhanced DBS.  Experience with challenging behaviours is essential.
