Role Overview: Position: Teacher of the Deaf (Secondary)
Location: Haringey
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Permanent / Full-Time
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on experience)
We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting.
- Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with hearing impairments.
- Does not need a Teacher of the Deaf qualification but must be willing to undertake training.
- Is eager to learn British Sign Language (BSL) if not already proficient.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and parents effectively.
Your Responsibilities: - Plan and deliver engaging lessons, ensuring accessibility for deaf and hearing-impaired students.
- Work closely with specialist staff, including interpreters, audiologists, and SEN teams.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies, including visual and kinaesthetic approaches, to support student learning.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
