Teacher of the Deaf – Secondary Provision – Haringey
Are you a passionate teacher looking to make a difference in the lives of deaf and hearing-impaired students? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teacher of the Deaf to join a secondary provision in Haringey.

Role Overview:
Position: Teacher of the Deaf (Secondary)
Location: Haringey
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Permanent / Full-Time
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (Dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting.

Is passionate about inclusive education and supporting students with hearing impairments.

Does not need a Teacher of the Deaf qualification but must be willing to undertake training.

Is eager to learn British Sign Language (BSL) if not already proficient.

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and parents effectively.

Your Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging lessons, ensuring accessibility for deaf and hearing-impaired students.

Work closely with specialist staff, including interpreters, audiologists, and SEN teams.

Use a variety of teaching strategies, including visual and kinaesthetic approaches, to support student learning.

Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.

Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence.
