Role Overview: - Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
- Location: Barking & Dagenham
- Contract: Full-Time / Permanent
- Salary: £102 - £115 per day (Dependent on experience)
About You: We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient SEN Teaching Assistant who:
- Has experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated learning needs.
- Is confident in supporting students with communication challenges, sensory needs, and behaviour management.
- Can build positive relationships with students, helping them feel secure and engaged in learning.
- Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
- Has a proactive and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students in a specialist setting.
Your Responsibilities: - Support students in developing independence and life skills alongside academic learning.
- Implement alternative communication methods such as PECS and Makaton to support non-verbal students.
- Assist in sensory regulation activities to help students manage their emotions and behaviours.
- Encourage social interaction and engagement through structured play and group activities.
- Provide a safe, calm, and nurturing environment where students feel supported in their development.
