Position: DT & Food Technology Teacher
Location: Merton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £36,413 – £53,994 per annum (Outer London – MPS/UPS)
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
Suitable for: ECTs and Experienced Teachers
Key Responsibilities: - Plan, deliver, and assess engaging DT and Food Technology lessons for students in KS3 and KS4
- Adapt curriculum content to meet the diverse needs of learners with SEND
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Use a range of teaching strategies to promote independence and hands-on learning
- Track student progress and provide clear feedback to support individual development
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to meet holistic needs
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the DT/Food department
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and wider school activities
The Ideal Candidate Will: - Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (applications from ECTs are welcome)
- Have a strong background in Design Technology and/or Food Technology
- Be passionate about supporting students with special educational needs
- Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to inclusive education
- Have excellent communication skills and a nurturing, patient approach
