A forward-thinking SEN school in West Drayton is seeking dedicated, proactive and compassionate Aspiring SEMH Practitioners to join their specialist team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals hoping to pursue a career in SEMH support, behaviour mentoring, education psychology, youth work or therapeutic interventions.
The Role
- Working closely with students aged 5–16 with SEMH needs, ASD, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours and learning difficulties.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group emotional regulation support.
- Implementing behaviour strategies, de-escalation techniques and personalised intervention plans.
- Supporting academic engagement, communication and confidence-building.
- Promoting a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral leads.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
- Strong emotional resilience, patience and a calm approach.
- Experience with challenging behaviour, youth work, mentoring or SEND (desirable but not essential).
- Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, Youth Studies, Social Sciences or similar are encouraged to apply.
- A desire to pursue training in SEMH, mental health, counselling or therapeutic pathways.
- Exceptional training in behaviour support, therapeutic approaches and trauma-informed practice.
- A supportive and collaborative staff team.
