Rate: up to £35 per hour
 
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
 
This is a qualified social worker role requiring you to be SWE registered and to have relevant experience within childrens services.
 
Job role:

To ensure that effective and efficient matches are made between the needs of looked-after children and children in need, and the placement resources required to meet those needs, by providing leadership and line management of staff within a team, and by contributing to service strategies.
 
In the main it is an office based role however currently we are operating hybrid  with bi monthly Office days (every other Thursday), also they need to be available to come in (with notice) for training
 
Main duties and responsibilities

1. To contribute to the management of the work of the team: recruiting, directing, developing, supporting and monitoring staff to deliver the objectives of the service
2. To contribute to the development of the systems of the team.
3. To take a departmental lead for one or more of the key functions of the team, including but not limited to:

 

• Maintain a strategic oversight of the placements of the council’s looked-after children, in order to maximize efficient use of current resources and establish future need
• Establish and maintain arrangements for the efficient procurement of external placements for looked after children, maintaining an oversight of the cost of individual placements
• To develop and maintain and operate systems for assessment and monitoring of placement quality, including but not limited to undertaking assessment and monitoring visits to external placements, investigation of complaints about providers and making recommendations about the use of particular placements
