- Position: British Sign Language Teaching Assistant (BSL TA)
- Location: Wandsworth
- Interview Date: Immediate
- Contract: Full-time / Fixed Term with the potential for Permanent
- Salary: £100 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
The Role:
- Supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students who may also have additional special educational needs (SEN).
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students who use BSL.
- Translating spoken language into BSL to aid communication in the classroom.
- Assisting teachers in adapting lesson materials to meet students’ needs.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development in students.
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and speech & language therapists to create an inclusive learning environment.
About you:
- BSL Qualification (Level 2 or above) – essential.
- Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired students in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support both students and staff.
- Passion for inclusive education and helping students achieve their potential.
