Senior Planning Policy Officer

Pay: £35 - £45 Umbrella PAYE per hour (Negotiable)
Contract: 6-month initial contract (potential for extension)
Location: Hybrid working (Harrow Civic Centre & remote)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about shaping the future of urban development? Harrow Council is looking for a Senior Planning Policy Officer to play a key role in progressing our Local Plan and delivering key regeneration projects. As part of a dynamic planning team, you will work on cutting-edge policy development, contribute to infrastructure projects, and drive the growth and sustainability of Harrow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the progression of the Harrow Local Plan through public consultation and examination
• Manage complex planning policy research and development projects
• Provide expert planning advice to colleagues, stakeholders, and the public
• Oversee community engagement and consultation processes
• Collaborate across council departments to deliver strategic infrastructure and regeneration plans

What We’re Looking For:

• Planning qualifications and experience, ideally within a London context
• Strong understanding of town planning legislation and policies
• Experience in managing policy documents, consultations, and stakeholder negotiations
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
• Driving Licence & DVLA check along with proof of business Insurance to be provided by the supplier for the worker offered
