Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Car + Benefits
My client are trusted name in the HVAC and wider Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contracting industry, with a 25-year track record of expertise and growth, working with some of the largest and most prestigious clients in the sector.
They are looking for an experienced and ambitious Contracts and Small Works Manager to take responsibility for delivering exceptional service across several high-profile contracts. This is a pivotal role for someone who can drive sales growth, optimise project delivery and profitability, and build strong client relationships, while leading and motivating a talented team.

About the Role
As the Contracts and Small Works Manager, you’ll play a vital role in driving sales and margin growth, working collaboratively with existing clients to identify new opportunities while developing new leads to expand portfolios. You’ll also oversee the delivery of small M&E projects (up to £300,000), ensuring high-quality execution and maximising profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Sales & Client Development:- Develop and strengthen relationships with existing clients to secure additional revenue opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new leads to grow client base and revenue streams.
- Meet/exceed sales targets for quoted works, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Project Management & Delivery:- Plan and manage small M&E projects (up to £300,000) with a focus on timely, high-quality delivery, including subcontractor management where relevant.
- Optimize project delivery processes to ensure client satisfaction while achieving profitability targets.
- Monitor project performance, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and cost control.
- Address project challenges proactively to minimise risks and delays.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and improve future outcomes.
Service Delivery & Team Leadership:- Manage and support a team of mobile engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to deliver outstanding service (including technical support).
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of planned and reactive M&E services, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
- Conduct team meetings, performance reviews, and identify training needs to build a high-performing team.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards and company policies.
Commercial and Operational Excellence:- Prepare/manage budgets for contracts / projects, ensuring financial target achievement.
- Conduct regular client meetings, providing technical expertise and enhancing service delivery.
- Compile and analyse KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure full statutory compliance across all contracts and projects.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:- A proven track record of managing multi-site Hard FM maintenance contracts.
- Demonstrable success in driving sales and building strong client relationships.
- Supervisory experience with a solid technical background (preferably in Heating, Air Conditioning, or Electrical).
- Experience managing small works, projects and delivering financial targets.
Skills:- Advanced IT proficiency (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
Requirements:- Full UK driving licence.
- Eligibility for a DBS disclosure.
