The Role
A well-regarded secondary school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a passionate and capable English Teacher from January 2026 on a long-term basis. The successful candidate will deliver English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, supporting pupils to develop strong literacy skills and confidence in reading, writing, and analysis.
This role involves full teaching responsibilities, including planning engaging lessons, marking, assessment, and contributing to departmental standards. It is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs seeking consistency and progression within a supportive school environment.
 
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (or be an ECT)
  • Have experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Be confident delivering both Language and Literature
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and organisation
  • Be committed, adaptable, and enthusiastic about English education
