Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: PAYE: £18.90 per hour | Umbrella: £24.00 per hour
Are you an experienced legal professional with expertise in Public Rights of Way (PRoW)? Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a skilled Support for Definitive Map Officer to provide essential legal support to the Infrastructure & Environment team in Pembrokeshire for a 12-week temporary role, covering long-term sickness absence.
What You’ll Do:
- Support the legal aspects of the Public Rights of Way (PRoW) service, including Definitive Map Modification Orders and orders under the Highways Act 1980 and Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
- Provide expert legal advice on PRoW queries received by the Local Authority.
- Conduct site visits across Pembrokeshire as required.
- Liaise with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority on Coastal Path and other PRoW matters.
- Collaborate with the PRoW maintenance team and update the CAMS PRoW database.
- Optionally serve as an Expert Witness at Public Inquiries.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in PRoW legal matters, ideally within a Local Authority setting.
- Ability to undertake site visits in Pembrokeshire.
- Strong communication and organisational skills to manage legal processes and stakeholder liaison.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (Highways Act 1980, Town and Country Planning Act 1990).
- Candidates must reside within a reasonable travelling distance to County Hall, Haverfordwest.
Essential Requirements:
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Criminal Convictions Declaration.
- Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
- Upon offer acceptance: Pembrokeshire CIFAS Results and Declaration.
