Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a Recycling & Waste Team Leader (Driver) to join a dedicated team in Pontypool, providing essential recycling and waste services to cover annual leave. This is an exciting opportunity to lead by example and contribute to a sustainable future.
What you’ll do:
- Drive HGV recycling and bin lorries, ensuring safe and efficient waste collections across the area.
- Lead a small team, overseeing daily operations and maintaining high service standards.
- Collect various types of waste (e.g., food, garden, residual, dry recycling, and trade waste) as per schedules.
- Ensure collection areas are left clean, safe, and tidy, with receptacles returned properly.
- Monitor recycling contamination and follow relevant procedures.
- Engage with the public professionally, maintaining a courteous and approachable manner.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and complete all relevant paperwork accurately.
- Support additional tasks, such as litter picking or emergency response, as needed.
What we’re looking for:
- A valid Class 2 HGV driving licence (essential).
- Previous experience in waste/recycling services or a similar operational role is desirable.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a proactive and reliable attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and manage a small team effectively.
- Commitment to health and safety and providing high-quality service to the community.
Requirements:
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Two years of professional references/work history.
