Location: Various Schools Across Northumberland
Contract Type: Day-to-Day, Short-Term, and Long-Term Supply
Hours: 08:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September

We’re currently recruiting Qualified and Unqualified Teaching Staff for supply work across a range of alternative provisions, SEN schools and trauma-informed settings throughout Northumberland. These schools support pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, SEN, and those with adverse childhood experiences.

This is a great opportunity if you’re looking for varied teaching experience in supportive environments that prioritise emotional wellbeing, inclusion, and connection before correction.

Who We’re Looking For: We welcome applications from:
  • Qualified Teachers
  • ECTs (Early Career Teachers)
  • Unqualified Teachers with relevant experience
You should be:
  • Experienced in working with students with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (2+ years preferred)
  • Skilled in trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
  • Confident managing behaviour positively and consistently
  • Flexible, organised, and proactive
  • Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Key Responsibilities: Depending on the placement, you may:
  • Deliver or support personalised learning in 1:1 and small group formats
  • Adapt lessons to suit individual needs, abilities, and emotional states
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Support or lead interventions focused on academic, emotional, or social progress
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
  • Uphold safeguarding policies at all times
