Android Principal Engineer Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Potential for Extension / permanent) – Immediate start available

We’re seeking a Principal Android Engineer to lead the charge on our cutting-edge private banking app. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new feature for a Tier 1 banking app on a breakthrough greenfield project.

Your Responsibilities As a Principal Android Engineer, you’ll:
- Drive Mobile Strategy: Shape our approach to Android development, ensuring seamless integration with APIs and banking services.
- Lead and Inspire: Mentor your team, fostering collaboration and driving the adoption of best practices.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with iOS engineers, backend developers, analysts, architects, and QA specialists in Agile squads.
- Deliver Excellence: Write, test, and ship code that prioritizes quality, performance, and security.
- Influence the Future: Advocate for customer-centric solutions and innovative approaches to mobile banking.
What You’ll Bring We’re looking for a visionary Android engineer who can blend technical expertise with strategic thinking. You’ll have:
- Extensive Experience: Proven success building and shipping Android apps, with a strong grasp of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Architectural Knowledge: Expertise in Clean Architecture, MVVM, and design patterns like Structural, Creational, and Behavioural.
- Security Awareness: Experience implementing security best practices for safeguarding customer data.
- Leadership Skills: The ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Product Focus: A deep passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.
Bonus Points For:- Previous experience within Banking, worked on at least one banking app
- Advanced Kotlin and functional programming skills.
- Experience with complex integrations such as SSO or app distribution strategies.
- Familiarity with UML design tools and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
