Role Purpose Manages up to 10 directly managed staff.
Manages up to 100 indirectly managed consultancy/contracting staff.
To be responsible for the strategic commissioning of services that deliver against the priorities and outcomes of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in relation to culture, heritage and tourism.
Responsibilities - Manage the day-to-day delivery and procedure of an events, culture, heritage and tourism service.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive range of innovative events, culture, heritage and tourism programmes, projects and events, small and large scale, and assist in the development of initiatives to deliver the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s priorities.
- Take the lead on policy development across events, culture, heritage and tourism through consultation, stakeholder engagement, analysing need and implementation and review.
- Take the lead in all aspects of the commissioning cycle for culture, tourism and heritage to deliver services that meet the outcomes and priorities of the council.
Requirements - Must have substantial experience as a senior manager in a culture, events, heritage of tourism role or holding a recognised qualification and relevant experience.
- Previous experience at a housing association or council is preferred
- Must have experience of working in the culture, events, heritage or tourism sector, including up-to-date knowledge of key sector legislation and strategies, funding regimes and key personnel of key agencies in the sector.

Contract - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
- Initial 6 month contract with the opportunity to extend
