Job Details This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract initally
Working for a Housing Association based in East London
Responsibilities - To keep debt levels within agreed targets through the proper and effective management of rent/ service charge and sub accounts.
- To contact customers by telephone, email, letter and the customer portal in relation to their debt.
- To action debt cases in accordance with the association’s policies and procedures, ensuring that clear and comprehensive notes are always recorded.To make decisions to ensure that cases are escalated through the stages of the process at the appropriate.
- The Income Officer will be responsible for taking enforcement action in cases where legal and non-legal remedies are appropriate to control debt levels.
- To keep former tenant debt within agreed targets through the proper and effective management of rent/service charge and sub accounts
- The Income Officer will ensure that customers who have difficulty in paying their rent/service charge are offered appropriate advice and referred to relevant agencies offering welfare and debt advice
- To contribute to the development and overall performance of the Income Team, and its operation to ensure the cost- effective delivery of high quality services
Requirements - A demonstratable knowledge of best practice in income management and debt collection
- A demonstratable knowledge of Housing and Welfare
- Computer literate understanding of using excel spreadsheets and ability to use housing management software e.g. Yardi and landlord Portal for UC and Landlord Portal for Housing Benefit software
- Strong working knowledge of legislation and the regulatory requirements relevant to income management for social housing and private sector
- Experience of working with Microsoft applications and computerised Housing Rents applications
Contract - 6 month Fixed Term Contract
- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
