About the RoleWe are currently seeking a 
Workshop Semi-Skilled / Skilled Technician to join the Local Authority on an agency basis. This is a vital role ensuring the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of both Light Goods and Heavy Goods Vehicles in line with strict compliance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out maintenance and repairs on vehicles in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, O Licence requirements, and DVSA standards.
 - Apply professional technical methods and maintain workshop standards.
 - Communicate effectively with the Workshop Supervisor/Manager throughout the repair/maintenance process.
 - Complete assigned workload and submit all required documentation in a timely manner.
 - Undertake relevant training to maintain and update technical knowledge.
 - Ensure proper use of council equipment and facilities.
 - Observe and adhere to safe working practices, COSHH handling, and risk assessments.
 - Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
 
Requirements- Previous experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, ideally within a local authority or fleet environment.
 - Strong understanding of O Licence and DVSA compliance standards.
 - A valid driving licence and DVLA check must be provided
 - Ability to work safely and effectively within a workshop setting.
 - Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
 - Knowledge of COSHH handling and H&S regulations.
 - Relevant vehicle licences (or willingness to train to obtain them).
