Learning Support Assistant – Haringey - Immediate A
specialist deaf provision within a primary school in Haringey is seeking a
dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support students with
hearing impairments and additional Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a
highly supportive team, ensuring that children receive the tailored support they need to succeed in their learning and development.
Role Overview - Position: Learning Support Assistant
- Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Salary: £29,000 - £30,000 (Term Time Only Pro Rata)
The ideal candidate will: - Have experience working with SEN students within a school setting (Essential)
- Be willing to learn British Sign Language (BSL) to support students with hearing impairments (No prior BSL knowledge required)
- Be able to support students with communication, sensory, and learning needs
- Have a patient and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs
- Work well within a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, SENCOs, and specialist staff
Your Responsibilities: - Provide individual and small-group support for students with hearing impairments and SEN
- Assist in developing communication strategies, including the use of visual aids and alternative methods
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Work alongside teachers and therapists to implement individual learning plans
