SEN Teaching Assistant – Walthamstow (Year 3/4)

Are you a caring, adaptable, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Walthamstow is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a mixed Year 3/4 class, providing vital one-to-one and small group support to help students thrive both academically and emotionally.

Position Overview:

• Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
• Location: Walthamstow, East London
• Year Group: Year 3/4
• Start: Immediate interviews available
• Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
• Pay: £102 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)

What We’re Looking For: We’re seeking someone who:

• Has experience working with children with SEND, including autism, speech and language needs, or other complex learning difficulties.
• Shows empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
• Can support students both one-on-one and in small groups to aid learning and promote engagement.
• Works well as part of a team alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Is proactive, positive, and committed to nurturing each child’s confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to individual pupils, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
• Implement personalised learning plans and adapt activities to meet varying needs.
• Promote social interaction, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour within the classroom.
• Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Contribute to the wider school community with a collaborative and enthusiastic approach.
